Shipping Policy

American Metric® operates Monday - Friday, 8 AM until 6 PM EST. We offer same business day shipping on in-stock items until 4 PM. Orders placed after 3 PM for same day shipping must be phoned into our Sales Department to guarantee same day service. Faxed orders cannot be guaranteed same day shipment. Faxed orders are generally shipped next business day unless urgency is indicated on order (NDA, FED EX, etc.). "Direct" or "drop" shipments are available.

When UPS® is not applicable (because of weight or length, etc.) motor freight carriers are selected on a “best-way” basis and shipped collect, unless other arrangements are made at time of order placement. Motor freight orders must be placed before 2 PM*) because of carrier pickup schedules.
Delivery to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is available for a courier fee. Other shipping methods should be arranged at each order placement.

Pricing information does not appear on packing slips. Freight and service charges are listed on invoices only.

Minimum Order

If you need service after hours, weekends, or holidays, please call our emergency 24 hour response line. Leave a message with our dispatcher by calling 1-800-651-5920. There is a base charge of one hundred dollars.

Return Policy

For all returns/shipment discrepancies a “RETURNED GOODS AUTHORIZATION NUMBER (RGA)” must be requested in writing within 30 days of the original ship date before merchandise may be returned. The RGA will be faxed to you. The following guidelines apply:
1. A minimum sales amount of $20.00 per purchase order is required.
2. Items must be received in original condition and packaging.
3. Items must be returned within 14 calendar days of the RGA's issue date.
4. Standard Part Order returns must be made within 30 days of Ametric Invoice Date

There will be a 20% restocking charge for all standard part returns with ‘Offsetting Orders’

There will be a 25% restocking charge for all standard part returns with no ‘Offsetting Orders’

There will be a 25% restocking charge for all Standard Motor returns with ‘Offsetting Orders

There will be a 45% restocking charge for all Standard Motor returns with no ‘Offsetting Orders’

There will be a 25% restocking charge for all Standard Gear Reducer returns with ‘Offsetting Orders’

There will be a 50% restocking charge for all Standard Gear Reducer returns with no ‘Offsetting Orders’

Special Product Orders (Shop, Special Product, Specialty Chain, Belt Cutting and Belt Welding Orders) can not be returned

Upon receipt and inspection of returned goods, a credit for the amount of goods invoiced, less freight charges and restocking fee, will be issued. Debit memos cannot be honored unless an RGA number is referenced.

*Note: Shop-made items, cut timing belts, linear motion products and any other made-to-order parts cannot be returned for credit.

Order Cancellation

Because purchase orders for in-stock items are filled the same or following business day, we ask that cancellations be made immediately by phone, followed with written confirmation by fax or mail. For the quickest response include purchase order number, items on backorder, and date of order.
All standard catalog items will be canceled; special items will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Distribution Policy

We sell the items in this catalog through established industrial distributors because we believe selling through distributors provides you, the customer, with better service at a lower cost than can be accomplished by direct selling.

Warranty

There are no warranties, of merchantability, fitness for purpose, or express, that extend beyond the description contained herein. The parties agree that the buyer’s sole exclusive remedy against the seller shall be repair or replacement of defective parts of goods. The buyer agrees that no other
remedy, including, but not limited to, consequential and incidental damages, shall be available to him.

We are constantly expanding our product line. If you need a specific metric item that we do not stock, we will try to obtain a source. We also offer sprockets, gears, and machine parts made to your specifications.
